So with the joy’s of the web come everyone having the ability to publish what ever they want and to send information out to the world without confirming they are doing the correct thing.
I have been thinking about this for some time now. My original plan for this web site was to try and improve my writing skills with the opinion of comments left behind but that seems to be a dead end. It has also been coming up in mails I see been sent out by famous people who are not marketing/copywriters but have a great list of people to advertise to.
The main thing I have noticed is people at the end of a message saying ‘Please join’ or ‘Please come’ or just anything with please in it gets me. Using that word just seems like they are begging people to do something instead of making them want to do something.
I see this as bad marketing but since I am not a Marketing person I can be incorrect with this but I would like to hear from people who actually write/sell for a living to know what the correct words should be.
For example changing:
‘Please join me at this event’
to
‘Join me at this event or regret it forever…’
To me, the first one is begging people to come where the second is saying its your problem if you don’t come.
I hope to get some feed back from this little post but till then I will keep reading the web for my answers..
Have a great day :)
